Do you love working with young children?  Are you creative, friendly, organized and a little bit silly?  If you answered “yes,” the TBE Madrichim-in-Training Workshop is for you!  Together with your fellow MIT classmates, you’ll spend the first half of the year learning all about child development, lesson planning, helping kids with special needs---everything you need to know to be an awesome Jewish role model for TBE kids. Then, you’ll spend the rest of the year observing Limud and Beit Midrash classes in action, discussing what you observe, learning about managing special situations in the classroom, and deciding what grade you’d like to work in the following year.  By the end of this year, you’ll be prepared to assist our Limud, Beit Midrash and BM3T teachers in their classrooms.  Get ready for an exciting year that will give you the skills you need and a community of great friends who love teaching as much as you do!

*If you are in 9th-12th grade and are interested in being a madrich/a, but have not taken the MIT Workshop in the past, please contact Hannah Richman to learn how to get involved!

When you’re not leading or teaching, you’ll be receiving ongoing professional development and support, and will work with Matt to plan upcoming assemblies.  Join a dedicated and enthusiastic team of songleaders and get ready to make Jewish music with our students!

Returning Madrichim Professional Development (Grades 9-12)

Faculty:  TBE Educators

Meets:  Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30pm

Dates:  9/7/2016 (7:00-9:00pm) , 11/16/2016, 2/15/2017, 5/3/2017

Required for:  Madrichim in Grades 9-12

Now that you’ve completed the Madrichim Training Workshop (or worked as a madrich/a for a year or more), we know that you and your fellow Madrichim friends are ready for something bigger---extra responsibility in your classrooms, more cutting-edge learning about working with your students and time for the madrichim community to learn from each other based on current and past classroom experiences? This year, you’ll have the chance to participate in several Professional Development Sessions designed to address these themes, with additional topics to be announced based on the interest and needs of the TBE Learning Programs and the Madrichim community.

Important Note:
If you are a returning madrich/a, you must sign up for this workshop.  There is a place on the Havayah registration form for you to indicate the day, time and grade you wish to work with in 5777.  Can’t wait for a great year!
