B'Yachad (Together) is Temple Beth Elohim’s 6th and 7th grade learning program. B'Yachad (formerly BM3T) is a bridge between the Limud and Explorations (K-5) programs and Havayah (8-12) programs. It includes classroom learning, community service work, informal learning on a Shabbaton (retreat), community building, social activities and JELY (junior youth group). B'Yachad engages students in learning and action through Limudei Yahadut (Judaic Studies) and Ma’asim Tovim (Community Service). These programs enable students to explore Jewish History and Text, and the impact Judaism has in their lives. All B'Yachad activities are geared toward helping students develop their identities as emerging Jewish adults and members of the global Jewish community. If you would like to visit the school, or find more information about our program please contact Dr. Judy Avnery, Director of K-7 Learning, (781) 235-8419 x210.
Mission and Goals
To engage students and their families in the process of study, mitzvot, worship, ma'asim tovim (good deeds), and celebration in order to inspire their continued engagement in lifelong Jewish learning and living.
To foster a sense of community through the interaction of students, parents, families, clergy and staff.
Ma'asim Tovim (Good Works) is the hallmark community service component of B'Yachad. In the Fall of 6th grade, each student joins a long-term community service group. Students continue their volunteer service throughout all of 6th and 7th grade. Before or after volunteering, students engage in service learning in order to form deep connections between the volunteer work and Jewish tradition. As part of Ma'asim Tovim, our students plan and run the Purim Carnival to raise donations for their partner organizations. Ma'asim Tovim registration takes place each fall. Learn more >>

Mishpacha B'Yachad (Family Programs)
Throughout 6th and 7th grade, students and their families attend thoughtfully planned Family Programs that will help prepare your family for the B'nei Mitzvah process. Among other things, family programs will integrate 6th grade B'Yachad text study learning to prepare students to write their d'var Torah (Torah Teach), review the structure of the Shabbat service and discuss family participation, and help interfaith families navigate the process of becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah. The B'Yachad Shabbaton is one of the highlights of our 6th and 7th grade experience at TBE. An important opportunity for students, faculty and staff to spend Shabbat together and build community, the Shabbaton introduces the central themes of our program and helps to create the foundation for the coming year.
