This is just the beginning of the incredible list of things that were present at our JELY Jr. Fall Fest yesterday! We kicked off the year for our K-5 Limud, Beit Midrash, Omanut and Day School Community participants with lots of fun competition and getting to know one another.
We started off with some pizza and ice breakers in the groups split by age (K&1, 2&3, 4&5). After pizza, we split up even further into small groups with advisors (click here to read about our incredible advisors) and Madrichim to conquer several different stations of fun games and activities. One of the favorite games we played was balloon hockey! Each player had a pool noodle and tried to get the most balloons into their team’s goal. There were also individual challenges, where each person had a minute to complete specific tasks. For example, with two plates in front of them, kids had to transport skittles from one plate to the other, using only a straw. Bonus points for those who made the skittles into a smiley face! Perhaps the silliest of all was the challenge of trying to flip a tea bag, attached to the hat on their head, on top of the hat.
All in all we had a wonderful day! Everyone had fun making friends, reconnecting with existing friends and playing together. We finished up our Fall Fest with some singing led by our wonderful Madrichim and some reflection about our favorite parts of the day. We couldn’t leave without some ice cream on such a hot day so push pops were enjoyed by all!
Thanks to everyone who came and we’re excited for our next event the first weekend of December!
